All dentists are required to complete dental school before they can begin treating patients independently. Even after graduation, they must attend regular continuing education courses in order to maintain their license. At Pelican Landing Dental, we go far above and beyond these basic requirements. Drs. Rich Gilbert and Lacy Gilbert have devoted themselves to furthering their education with the goal of making our practice the best dentist in Bonita Springs. Master and Fellowship Status
The Academy of General Dentistry recognizes dental professionals who have demonstrated an in-depth understanding of their profession and who have completed extensive continuing education.
In order to become a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), a dentist must complete 1,100 hours of approved continuing education. This is the Academy’s highest honor, and Dr. Rich Gilbert is one of only 2,300 MAGDs worldwide. He is the only one in our area to have achieved this prestigious designation. Dr. Lacy Gilbert is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). She has completed over 500 hours of continuing education courses and passed a grueling, comprehensive written exam.
Additionally, both Dr. Rich and Dr. Lacy have pursued certifications outside of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Rich is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), which means that he is an expert in rebuilding smiles with dental implants. Dr. Lacy has earned a Mastership in Dental Implants.
