Dentures in Bonita Springs

For dentures in Bonita Springs, see the dentists at Pelican Landing Dental. For hundreds of years, dentures were the only form of tooth replacement available for people with missing teeth. Today, they are still a reliable option. The difference, of course, is that dentures today are made of far better materials based on greatly improved methods of production. In addition, there are now several denture treatments available to accommodate every degree of tooth loss. If you’re searching for dentures in Bonita Springs, we invite you to come to Pelican Landing Dental. We offer several different types of dentures.

Complete Dentures

A complete denture is a removable prosthesis that is custom designed to replace all of the teeth along one or both arches of teeth. False teeth made of either dental porcelain or acrylic are mounted on a base colored to look like your natural gum tissue. Complete dentures are usually the most affordable option for tooth replacement, but they do require extracting all of the teeth along an arch at least two months before we can begin fabricating. This gives your gums time to heal so the dentures fit more precisely.

Immediate Denture

Some patients are uncomfortable with the idea of being edentulous for eight weeks prior to receiving complete dentures. For these patients, your Bonita Springs dentists offer immediate dentures. For these dentures, teeth in back of your canines are extracted while your front teeth remain in place. The denture is then fabricated. On the day you receive your immediate denture, your remaining teeth are extracted, so you are never without a smile.

Removable Partial Dentures

If you have only a few teeth missing here and there in your mouth, then we can design a partial denture. This prosthetic is comprised of false teeth that are attached to a metal framework. A partial has brackets or clasps that attach to your remaining for a secure fitting.

Overdentures

If you’ve been missing teeth for some time, then you have likely lost bone volume in your jaw. If so, then a complete denture or immediate denture may not fit securely in your mouth. In this case, our implant surgeon Dr. Lacy Gilbert can strategically position dental implants along your upper or lower arch to hold a denture firmly in place. Implants and bone fuse together to form a solid anchor, just like a natural tooth root. Dentures are then outfitted with a special under carriage that securely attaches to the implants.

Hybrid Dentures

For patients looking for hybrid dentures in Bonita Springs, Pelican Landing Dental has an excellent track record of success. These dentures require only a few implants, so they are often the perfect option for patients with bone loss that are looking for a permanent solution to tooth loss.
