What to Expect During Treatment

Dr. Orlov will begin with a comprehensive examination and treatment planning session to ensure you’re a good candidate and that you understand the treatment. Our protocol for treatment includes the following:

  • The treatment area is thoroughly numbed for your comfort
  • A tiny pinhole is made in the gum tissue above the affected teeth
  • Special instruments are used to gently loosen the gum tissue
  • The gums are carefully repositioned to cover the exposed root surfaces
  • Tiny collagen strips are placed through the pinhole to stabilize the gum tissue

The entire process typically takes about 1-2 hours, depending on how many teeth are being treated.
